Each year our Visalia County Center Rotary President Elect selects another 501(c)(3) non profit charitable organization to focus fundraising for: This year President Elect Jim Sigler's

2025 Fund-A-Need recipient is:

The Kaweah Health Foundation

Tiny Feet, Big Steps

Our Pediatric Unit
Advances in pediatric medical treatments mean that children and their parents no longer need to travel far to access the latest therapies. Treatment is available right here at Kaweah Health. Our partnership with Valley Children’s Medical Group, ensures that children can receive treatment close to their families and siblings, reducing the added stress of travel for parents and relatives. When children see their family every day, they tend to feel more secure and less anxious, which significantly aids their health journey.

Surgical Recovery Unit
In addition, advances in medical care are resulting in longer and healthier lives. Conditions that perplexed doctors 30 years ago are now routine and treatable, particularly among the Baby Boomer generation. Orthopedic procedures have advanced significantly, reducing recovery times and increasing the number of planned surgeries. Procedures that once required multi-day stays can now be performed with a simple overnight stay or even on an outpatient basis.

We Need Your Help!

Please consider a donation

Kaweah Health is committed to meeting the needs of our growing community by renovating our Pediatric Unit and expanding our 3E Surgical Recovery Unit for short-term stays within the medical center. The Pediatric Department project will renovate eight rooms located on the third floor of the East Medical Center Wing. The renovated rooms are designed to accommodate advanced technology and include family seating/sleepers to enhance comfort for both children and their families.

To accommodate larger volumes of short stay surgeries, we will expand and remodel our SRU unit. This expansion will allow us to treat less complex surgeries more efficiently, without the restriction of bed space, ensuring we can provide timely care to more patients. When you’re in pain, you want treatment fast, and this addition will help achieve that.

Icehouse Theater

The Visalia Community Players is a California non-profit corporation dedicated to the development of community theatre in the greater Visalia area. The organization is entirely supported by ticket sales and tax-deductible contributions. Each year, The Players members put in thousands of hours of their own time to bring community theatre to Visalia. Every job needed to run the theatre — from acting to ticket sales, from building sets to maintaining the building — is performed by volunteers dedicated to community theatre. Membership in the organization is open to anyone who shares an interest in community theatre.

The basis of community theatre is that it is open to all. It is a place for community members to come together and perform for the entertainment of the community. To this end, we have actively encouraged new members in the organization, and have struggled to keep ticket prices low enough to be affordable for anyone, while meeting the substantial costs of operating the theatre.

Visalia Fire Department : Fire Safety House

Visalia Fire Department wants to buy a Fire Safety House to teach Visalia’s kids how to be safe around fire. The Inflatable Fire Safety House is a fire prevention, safety, and escape education prop.

It inflates to allow children in Kindergarten through 5th grade to walk through the house where firefighters and banners teach them fire safety lessons and how to escape from a burning house.

The three room, 14 x 29 x 17 foot house includes a kitchen, living room and bedroom.  At the back of the house there is a crawl through tunnel that simulates smoke rising so kids can be instructed on how to escape from a house that is on fire.

Kids will learn:

How to be safe around stoves, fireplaces, and candles

How to test for hot doors

How to crawl through smoke filled rooms

How to exit a burning house through doors and windows

The Fire Safety House is very portable and will allow the Visalia Fire Department to conduct trainings year round in cafeterias, gyms, and on play grounds.

You can help raise the funds necessary by making a donation during the Fund-a-Need portion of tonight’s live auction.  Please help keep Visalia’s kids safe.
